Operations Supervisor

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shop-Floor Operations Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our investment casting plant in Abu Dhabi. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient production, maintaining high-quality standards, and fostering a safe working environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing a team of production personnel, optimizing processes, and ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality control procedures.

Responsibilities:
• Supervise and Lead Production Team
– Directly supervise and manage a team of operators, technicians, and other production personnel on the shop floor.
– Assign tasks, provide guidance, and ensure proper training of team members.
– Monitor employee performance, provide feedback, and address performance issues as needed.
– Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Oversee Daily Production Operations
– Monitor and manage the production process to ensure efficient and timely completion of orders.
– Ensure adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety procedures.
– Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
– Optimize workflow and processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Quality Control and Assurance
– Ensure that all products meet established quality standards and specifications.
– Implement and enforce quality control procedures throughout the production process.
– Monitor and analyze quality data to identify areas for improvement.
– Collaborate with the quality control department to resolve quality issues.
• Safety Management
– Promote and enforce a safe working environment in compliance with company policies and local regulations.
– Conduct regular safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
– Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
– Investigate accidents and incidents and implement preventative measures.
• Equipment and Maintenance
– Monitor the condition of production equipment and report any maintenance needs.
– Coordinate with the maintenance department to schedule repairs and preventative maintenance.
– Ensure that equipment is operated safely and according to procedures.
• Inventory Management
– Monitor and manage the inventory of raw materials, consumables, and finished goods on the shop floor.
– Ensure accurate record-keeping of inventory levels.
– Collaborate with the materials management team to ensure timely availability of materials.
• Reporting and Documentation
– Maintain accurate production records, including output, downtime, and quality data.
– Prepare and submit regular reports on production performance.
– Document procedures and processes as required.
• Continuous Improvement
– Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
– Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
– Implement best practices in investment casting operations.
• Communication and Collaboration
– Maintain effective communication with other departments, including engineering, quality, and maintenance.
– Collaborate with team members to resolve issues and improve processes.
– Report to the Plant Manager on operational performance and challenges.

Qualifications:
– Highschool diploma (preferably with technical outlook)
– Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within an investment casting or similar manufacturing environment.
